    We Offer In-Person and Online Counseling!

    Several resent research studies have found that teletherapy, also known as online counseling, is just as effective as face-to-face counseling sessions. 

    This is why all of our counselors offer both in-person and online counseling sessions to all of their clients.  This means that for each session you get to decide whether or not you want to come into the office for your session or meet your counselor online. 

    How to Prepare for Online Counseling

    Try to reduce distractions.

    • let family/roommates know that you need uninterrupted time alone.
    • wear headphones- this can help with both privacy and it improves sound quality
    • turn off notification sounds on your computer/phone

    Find a safe and comfortable place with a strong internet connection.

    Examples include:

    • Home
    • Parked car
    • Private office
    • Private outdoor spot

    Test out the software. 

    Your counselor will include links to your sessions when you schedule your appointment, and a reminder will be sent on the day of your appointment.

    You will not need to download anything if you are connecting on your computer, but if you are connecting from your cell phone, you will need to download the Simple Practice application.
